If
Pereskia is the most primitive cactus we know, Opuntia is definitely
an intermediate step towards what we commonly think of a cactus.
Besides playing an important role in the evolution of Cactaceae and
being an important resource for humans and animals alike, many Opuntiae are
quite beautiful pot plants. Nonetheless their diffusion in
collections is extremely limited and I am delighted to host a gallery
with the photos that Roberto recently published on the italian forum
of cactus&co. In these pictures Roberto shows us his plants in
all their beauty, the magic of spines contrasting with their magnificent
flowers .... Maihueniopsis darwinii Tephrocactus weberi v. deminuta
